Africa Institute of Emergency Medicine
The Africa Institute of Emergency Medicine (AIEM) was established to meet the growing demand for emergency medicine training and services on the African continent. With the evolution of emergency medicine as a speciality, more and more clients needed access to a wide range of clinical, academic, and training services, as well as a variety of specialised emergency medical solutions.
In response to these needs, AIEM was established to provide a comprehensive range of emergency medical training services. AIEM offers several internationally sourced and custom-designed CPD-accredited medical courses.
AIEM is both an accredited training facility for ITLS Southern Africa and an authorised training centre for the American Heart Association (AHA). To assist our clients in providing exceptional patient care and making sure they are fully compliant with all applicable guidelines and regulations, we offer a wide range of courses and services.
In 2022, AIEM significantly expanded its professional medical training into the health and safety training space.
To accomplish this, AIEM became an INTRA Licensed Health and Safety Training Provider, a health and safety training consultancy with over 25 years of experience in Africa.
AIEM provides both SETA-accredited courses and SAQA Unit Standard aligned courses. Additionally, AIEM is a SAIOSH Corporate Member and is able to offer verified CPD points for health and safety courses.
With our commitment to excellence and dedication to providing the highest level of service to our clients, AIEM is well-positioned to meet the demands of Africa’s expanding emergency medical sector.
AIEM is proud to have the support of First Care Solutions (Pty) Ltd, as well as our partner medical companies ER Consulting Inc., ER Specialist Governance Inc., and SH Inc.
We also collaborate with a variety of industry organizations and special interest groups to ensure that our students are provided with the most up-to-date and superior training on the African continent.
Partners
First Care Solutions (Pty) Ltd (FCS) was born out of the administration division of ER Consulting Inc. in 2009 and is the holding company of AIEM (Pty) Ltd.
The services offered by FCS encompass all aspects of medical administration including finance, marketing, human resources, and information technology.
Now administering emergency practices across South Africa, First Care Solutions operates a medical call centre called the ER Support Zone providing a range of telehealth and support services to the emergency medicine industry.
Affiliate Programme
In the context of AIEM, affiliate programmes are agreements in which the institute pays other organisations or individuals a commission for referring students to our short-course healthcare training programmes.
These affiliates promote AIEM’s courses and are compensated according to a mutually agreed upon license agreement.
